Job Summary

Pipe Welding, is one of the most demanded craft in the work field. Pipe welding is used in a variety of settings, from commercial buildings to power generation plants and from heavy manufacturing to pipeline construction. These sites are owned by companies such as NRG, Entergy, SRNS, etc. Or have work experience with a leading provider such as Fluor, Jacobs, CBI, Cajun, etc. Weld test will be provide before the placement of any candidate.

Responsibilities and Duties

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Perform repair, maintenance to plant facility and overhaul of plant mechanical equipment
  • Uses power tools, cutting tools and hand tools to complete assign task
  • Correctly perform the welding processes for pipe
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and responsibility for the environment.
  • Modifying and repairing a variety of metal parts such as equipment frames and bodies, hand and power tools, pipes and tanks, and other facilities equipment.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations
  • Operates company vehicles and equipment
  • Working in constricted location

 

Qualifications and Skills

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and time management skills
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and attention to details
  • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to perform work outdoors, requiring continuous physical activity
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from very cold to very hot.
  • Ability to work around or on energized electrical equipment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in inconvenient  and uncomfortable angles
  • Ability to work elevated heights and be able to climb up and down ladders
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and squat for extended periods of time
  • Must possess good hearing and vision and be able to work in the most noisy and dirty areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Must be able to successfully pass welding test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years or more welding experience 
  • Have been employed with Fluor, Jacobs, CBI, Dow or Cajun
